OK.  Nice email to your Dad also.  I am not available from 10 to 12 on Monday, but otherwise any time should be good.

I have been listening to the interviews you sent to Pearson and you did a nice job editing them.  The only thing is I'd like for them to be a little shorter and more uniform in the time allotted for each, especially some of them-- Eric's is twice as long as the others. When I have finished listening to all of them we can talk about it.  They are really interesting interviews.

Good job!

Yes, definitely.  And I want to interview her son to get a different perspective on the work ethic, since he represents some young people who don't buy into that ethic.

Hi Y'All,

We have to take Lisa to the airport Tuesday morning and then we have a doctor's appointment to start our shots at 2:00 that afternoon, so we could do it after 3:30.  Monday is Jonathan's last day (he has a 7:30 plane, I think) so I'd rather not do it Monday.  After that, it's clear sailing.  How about Wednesday?  We could start early afternoon or even late morning and go the rest of the day.

If you are coming over to meet with Jonathan on Monday, Scott, we could do a quick meeting Monday.  I want you to come up with some concrete suggestions for the shopping cart for us and Jonathan wants one, too.  Donna, it would be good to get your input at the same time.

So, maybe an hour on Monday, depending on Jonathan, and then most of the day on Wednesday.  How does that sound?  I am not going to have the copy ready for the poem book until later next week because of all this, but I'd rather have it done well than rush it into print.  It probably won't make it before sometime in January, but that's OK.

There's just so much going on right now!

Maryanne

Hi, Partners!
I'm finished up with my other job, Thanksgiving is now just a bunch of good memories and still-delicious leftovers, and I'm ready to get going on SAVE or whatever we decide to call it!
When can we all get together for a couple of hours to put some initial plans together?  I think Maryanne mentioned Monday or Tuesday?  Could we meet at the Datesman Clubhouse Monday or Tuesday afternoon?  If all three of us brought a 'hot list' of sorts with items that need immediate attention, maybe that would be a good start.  We'll need to have a real, live strategy meeting soon, but I think we have to look at the overall picture first before we can do that.
Also, just a couple of things:
--Jonathan Vaughn asked if he could meet with us next week as they had tons of family around for the holiday.  I told him I'd call the first of the week to set it up;
--I was very pleased with the quote from Gerald and I also agree that the 12-page color is the best option;
--I know that the business name info from legal was a little disappointing but like Scott said, there's still a lot to work with and now's the time to make changes if needed.  I'll give it some time and thought before our meeting, too, to see if I can add anything of value!  You both have put a lot of time into it and I hope we can stay with most of the general ideas, etc. 'cause it's looking good!
Can't wait to have a kick-off meeting with you!  Let me know when you both want to get together.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

feb 23 email excerpt

I am concerned that it has been months and there is no contract and that the work I am doing for amways that will not benefit SAV is underappreciated.  I am also concerned that my responsibilities have ballooned at the same time that my percentage was cut in half.  I am taking a risk for a potential for ownership, but half my work will not benefit SAV and we still do not have a contract that covers even that.

I am non-confrontational by nature and hate negotiations or tense situations, so my stress level is and has been high in anticipation of our contract being finalized, especially in light of the fact that the vast majority of the work is done and the milk truck request can also be construed as 'working yourself out of a job'.  No offense I've been down this road before.  I have had several anxiety  attacks sensing a change in Maryanne's response to my recent situation.

This all looks good.  Also, we haven't forgotten about the legal stuff and we are working with Linda on that in the meantime.  It is in process.

Sure i looked at my email and realized i sounded more defensive than i intended, i have no issue and understand.  I have both drives and have my PC and one Hard Drive with everything important duplicated the second drive has a partial synch which I will update before I drop it off to you at the end of the week,  I have been doing this all along and the drive was at your house while you were out of town, but i took it with me to continue to use for backup synch as I indicated..

My situation change has not affected my work or procedures.  If I have a problem bring it up immediately.

I understand Georges background and have no issue undergoing methodical processes and documentation.

And our corporate agreement?

Great, Scott.  I assumed that you were working on this.  We haven't talked about where the equipment is now, and since your situation has changed, it is a question that George and I have.  Also, you didn't mention the external drives.  What is the status of synchronizing them?  is that something you had been doing before now?  As I said, George is very anxious that we have all the files in our possession, and he says when you bought the drives, the plan was to put all the files on both of them and have one stay with you and one with us.

Many of these requests are coming from George and reflect the fact that he has led many technological projects over the years.  He knows that the projects go well when certain procedures are followed, and he believes that we have all agreed to these procedures.  I am just following up with everybody.

Sure I am working on all of this.

Since we are evaluating our work and plans, what is the situation with our contract, are we still waiting for Linda?

Ill get you timelines and some immediate information tonight/tomorrow should be easy to consolidate this info as I have been actively working everything up till I had to travel last week and fell ill.

I assure you as a professional I keep your equipment safe and dry it is either with me or if for any reason I am going to be away it is locked with family in a secure area.  Primarily we are speaking of the PC and the Canon video camera of course.  The rest of the major equipment is in your possession.  I understand your concern, you have expressed it to me several times (which is fine).  If there was a problem with me being able to use and store the equipment i use I would ask for some assistance.

I will fill in the blanks on the rest and get back to you with more answers and a timeline before mid-morning.

Scott

Thanks for the update, Scott.  Please do continue to rest and get well.  We need for you to be well!  :-)

This exercise that George has had us do is really helpful.  It is forcing us to do in a systematic way what we said we would do back last fall.  We said we would evaluate where we were in mid-February, and that's what we're doing.  It is going to help us make mid-course corrections, define our purpose and focus on what needs to be done going forward.  We'll talk more about this when we get together, but I am gong to need you to focus on doing more interviews and preparing the Youth's Companions for the site.  Donna is going to focus more on product development and she and I are going to work on our business model.  I am also going to be writing some more and George is going to be looking for funding.

While you are organizing your files, there are several things we are going to need from you and I am working on a list now.  I'll get it to you later this afternoon.  In the meantime, as you handle a file, make sure it is backed up on both the external drives you and George bought.  Are they both with you?  If not, make note that the goal is to have them synchronized and then give us one of the drives to keep here.  Don't make a trip to get them if you don't have them at your sister's house.

I'm glad you are feeling better but don't overdue.  We are busy organizing a lot of stuff now.

Maryanne

Good deal, I have brushed up on using Garageband for our purposes, we will need some headphones too for you to monitor yourself.  I also studied outputting the sound in the right format in a stereo form.

We can use an inexpensive mic and separate headphones to monitor, however i know of a nice wireless logitech set that is inexpensive at walmart or bestbuy and some similar wired all in  one headsets that are all $50 or less.

We can try what you have first, but those are another nice option you would have more freedom of movement while you work.  I do remote voicework for a living when i fix peoples computers and the quality and reliability are very good.

Anyways i'm good to go.

Thanks,
Scott

I say we go through the motions a few times eliminating wasteful steps then document the results for you to use as a guide and then we can even work remotely some if you want while you actually record.  Finally I will help you edit and organize the files for publishing.

Scott,

There's a headphone jack and two others that I don't know what they are, so maybe so.  On the older computer I know it was possible to plug in my microphone.

Hi Scott,
We spoke in Aug. when you were helping Lynn Clark at his house and I happened to call. We discussed your setting me up at my house to do some recordings and I'm ready to start. Please call me to set a time to meet.
